Runway Report: Schiaparelli Fall 2014 Couture

Following the inaugural Schiaparelli collection designed by Marco Zanini only two celebrities were brave enough to take on the very avant garde collection Tilda Swinton and Sarah Jessica Parker. While the sophomore collection from the designer was just as avant garde, maybe even more, but there were still some amazing gowns that I am praying to the fashion gods make it to the red carpet. Zanini went back to the houses glory days in the 1940's for his inspiration. Sending models in a Shocking Pink room down a leopard print runway in exaggerated forties shoulders, lots of fur, hand painted prints, elegantly draped fabrics, and manipulated structured silhouettes which Zanini called "Controlled Excess." I hope a bevy of a-list Hollywood beauties get their hands on this collection for the film festival season this fall.
